MANILA, Philippines -US-based sports network ESPN is set to air a 60-minute television special on Manny Pacquiao’s iconic rise in the sport of boxing.
In a report at Doghouseboxing.com, ESPN will air Pacquiao’s story on Tuesday on their primetime newsmagazine show on E:60.
ESPN reporter Jeremy Schaap will take an inside look on Pacquiao’s rise from poverty to the Philippines national icon.
Pacquiao is the only Asian boxer to win four world titles in different weight divisions. He is the current holder of the WBC Lightweight title, and previously won the WBC Super Featherweight, IBF Super Bantamweight and WBC Flyweight title belts.
He was also named by Ring Magazine as the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
Pacquiao became boxing’s talk of the town in June 2001 when he defeated IBF Super Bantamweight champion Lehlo Ledwaba by technical knockout. -GMANews.TV
