Filipina beauty competes for Miss International Title
Binibining Pilipinas-International Patricia Fernandez is set to represent the country in the 48th edition of the Miss International beauty pageant in Macau.
Fernandez is seeking to become the fifth Filipina to win in the pageant. The four Filipinas who bagged the Miss International crown are Gemma Cruz Araneta (1964), Aurora McKenny Pijuan (1970), Mimilanie Laurel Marquez (1979), and Precious Lara Quigaman (2005).
Fernandez said that she is ready to compete in the Miss International 2008 beauty contest. “There is no pressure but hopefully, I will win the crown,” she said.
Fernandez, 22, and stands 5′6” tall and measures 33-24-34said that she has seen some of her competitors in the Internet and said, “Halos lahat sila blonde (Almost all of them are blonde).”
Before leaving for the Miss International, Fernandez said that she studied foreign languages, dancing, personality development, and makeup lessons.
The Miss International beauty pageant will be held at the Venetian Hotel in Macau on November. 8.
A graduate of BA Speech Communication from the University of the Philippines, Fernandez also excels not only in academics but also in her hobbies such as swimming, singing, and playing the piano.-goodnewspilipinas.com
