Prinsipe ng Sabong wins WorldFest Award 2009
Indie Film “Prinsipe ng Sabong” (Prince of Cockfigthing) directed by Yeng Grande is set to receive a REMI Best Feature Award at the 42nd WorldFest Houston Independent International Film Festival in Texas.
The screening of Prinsipe ng Sabong is set on April 22, 2009 in Texas.
SYNOPSIS:
The movie which stars actor Gardo Verzosa, actress Katya Santos and Alan Paule tells the story of Joey, an actor who was very passionate for cockfighting, a favorite national pasttime. But when his best rooster lost to an unknown breed of gamecock named “Prinsipe ng Sabong”, he quit showbiz to look for “Prinsipe ng Sabong.”
Joey went back home to look for the Prinsipe, but in the process became embroiled in family troubles. He found out that their house had become like an orphanage since his Father decided to adopt children whom he didn’t like. The conflict got worse when he fell in love with Celine, his brother’s girlfriend.
