Star Circle Quest finalist Roxanne Guinoo continues to prove her mettle as a dramatic actress as she topbills ABS-CBN’s newest daytime TV series “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” which premiered last May 26 after “Wowowee.”

Roxanne, last seen in the action series “Palos,” essays the challenging role of  Lea Alegro – a woman scorned by her childhood memories and need to fulfill her life’s promise to bind her family together. Lea is a “whisperer” to a champion horse.

Will life allow her to be happy? Or, will she continue being just a “Ligaw na Bulaklak?”

Following the success of “Prinsesa ng Banyera,” “Ligaw na Bulaklak” also taps Andoy as its director and Ara Mina as main contravida Janet, whose immense love for a guy pushes her to do unimaginable things.

“This will be a groundbreaking series,” says direk Andoy. “You will see a different Roxanne here. She will play a horse whisperer. You will also see how talented our cast members are.”

This series also marks a milestone in the cast’s respective careers – Kjwan vocalist and vj Marc Abaya makes his acting debut as one of Roxanne’s leading men Francis, a romantic, well-educated lad. After playing the mentor in the hit “Kung Fu Kids,” multi-awarded actor Sid Lucero plays romantic lead Billy, Lea’s childhood sweetheart. Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno makes a showbiz comeback as Mon, a self-made man whose undying love for a woman continues to inspire him to do good. Coco Martin also makes his kapamilya debut as Ronel, Lea’s brother.

“Ligaw na Bulaklak” also features the love triangle of Matteo Guidicelli, Erich Gonzales and Carla Humphries. Also included in the cast are Smokey Manoloto, Arlene Muhlach, Ron Morales, Jaymee Joaquin, Nonie Buencamino, Joem Bascon, and Chokoleit with the special participation of Jodi Sta Maria.

Catch “Ligaw ng Bulaklak” weekdays after “Wowowee” on ABS-CBN.

I don’t have anything against Roxanne, I think she’s a good actress, however this Ligaw na Bulaklak is the ugliest teleserye she had. It’s full of crappy scenes made to look like she’s so API!!! Who the heck puts up with people like Precious and Ms.Elle (or L however that is spelled!). My gosh, Roxanne is a good actress, give her something that is worth her talent! Filipino Teleseryes are always full of screaming and crying, what is up with that? This has been the come on since Mara Clara days, can’t you guys hire a more creative scriptwriter???? Not worth my time to watch, I stopped watching today on their second week!!! Only reason I want to watch it is because of Billy and Leah, but the whole thing is just a big JOKE!! Do we really need to buy copyrights from other countries to come up with a good story (like My Girl and Betty La Fea), come on Filipinos are more intelligent that what others think, we get tired of crying and screaming too, you know!!!

Okay I just got done watching the 6.12.08 episode. This episode was better than yesterdays. I really liked the part where Precious accidently knocked the thing over and then took out the picture of her mom and Billy’s flower. Cuz I can’t stand having Lea and Billy apart. At least we knoe Lea is thinking about him. BUT THE ENDING PISSED ME OFF. Francis? He’s gonna be replacing Billy? I hope not. I don’t like it.

This teleserye is a waste of Roxanne’s talent. She is performing a very stupid character.
